My little sisters Lydia and Madelyn and I went to see ventriloquist and America’s Got Talent winner Darci Lynne Farmer. Madelyn begged endlessly for Dearci Lynne tickets and she just so happened to be the one my mom was struggling to buy for this Christmas.

Since the age of time everyone has had a special talent they hold near and dear to their heart. For Darci Lynne Farmer, it began when she took one short month to teach herself ventriloquism.

In 2017 she took the stage of America’s Got Talent at the young age of 12. The judges took such a liking to her that she got the Golden Buzzer (that brings you immediately to the live finals at the Dolby Theatre).

We have been watching AGT for about three years or so, and Tuesdays were one of our favorite days where we could snuggle up on the couch and watch Mel B, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum watch the acts in anticipation, looking for something that snatched their hearts.

And snatched their hearts she did. So much that she ended up winning the whole darn thing and won the million dollar prize.

But not only did she snatch the judge’s heart’s she snatched America’s as well. After her victory, she has started her worldwide tour.

My family and I on Sunday Jan. 27 went to see her perform with all her puppet friends in St. Louis at the Stifel Theatre and it was a blast.

The tickets were given to us a Christmas present because my younger sister Madelyn begged so bad for them, and she just so happened to be the kid that my mom was struggling to shop for this year. My parents made up this lame story that they were on the waiting list and that we probably wouldn’t get tickets in time.

Yet tickets found their way underneath the Christmas tree, and my family, for the most part, was pretty excited. My sister Lydia and I were pretty skeptical at first.

At first I thought that the show was going to be obnoxious and little kid stuff, but I actually ended up really liking it.

The show started out with a family band called Pelican 212 that met Farmer backstage on AGT.  But what everybody was anxiously waiting for Lynne to take the stage.

Walking unto the stage, this 14-year-old girl you couldn’t tell she had a single nerve in her body.

With her puppets, Edna Doorknocker, Petunia the big-headed rabbit, Katie, her first puppet and Oscar the mouse she stole the show with singing with her mouth closed.

My family really enjoyed the show and it was probably the best family outing that we have ever had.
