What’s It Like Being Stuck At Home?

It’s been crazy, being stuck at home for the past couple of months. Some have been just fine, others have gone crazy. What will this do to our economy? How long will this last? What will this do to our family and friends? I interviewed a friend of mine and a couple of my family members to see their opinion on the whole thing.

Does your family ever get on your nerves?

“Yes, they’re everywhere.” Madison Hankins (Freshman at Liberty) “Definitely.” Gavin Orf (7th grader at Frontier/my little brother) “Yes, like 30% of the time.” Dara (Dare-uh) (My step-mom)

What do you do to keep yourself from going crazy?

“It’s too late for me.” Madison “Just chill, try and calm myself down.” Gavin “Keep myself busy.” Dara

Do you ever get alone time?

“Too much.” Madison  “I get a lot.” Gavin  “No not really.” Dara

What shows or movies have you watched? What games have you played?

“I’ve watched just about everything on Netflix and Disney Plus.” Madison “I’ve been playing a lot of Fortnite.” Gavin “The Affair, Waco, and Ozark.” Dara

Do you stay active?

“Yeah, I workout a lot.” Madison “Yeah, I workout at night.” Gavin  “Yeah, we have been going on walks and hikes.” Dara

What do you do to stay motivated?

“Reward myself, with coffee.” Madison “I don’t want to feel slower, trying to get better for soccer.” Gavin “I pray to god to give me strength to stay motivated.” Dara

How’s your sleep schedule?

“Oh it’s gone, in the trash, all went downhill. I fall asleep between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. and then wake up between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.” Madison.  “It’s pretty good. I stay up until 9 or 10. I usually wake up between 9 and 10 too.” Gavin  “Horrible. I get up at like 9 when I used to get up at 5. I fall asleep usually around 1 or 2 a.m.” ...

Do you still talk to your friends and other family?

“I talk to a few, sometimes I can go days without talking to anyone.” Madison “Yeah, me and my friends are in group chats and stuff.” Gavin “Yeah, like everyday, I miss everyone.” Dara

Do you wash your hands regularly?

“Yeah, like every hour.” Madison “Yeah, then I use hand sanitizer after too.” Gavin  “Yes, they’re starting to get all dry.” Dara

Do you keep things clean?

“I clean everything I touch at least once a day.” Madison “Yeah, I help around the house.” Gavin.  “Oh yeah, when I get groceries I sanitize everything before I bring it in.” Dara

How do you feel about everything?

“I feel like things would go by a lot faster if people would just stay inside.” Madison “The coronavirus is a new disease to us, we still have a lot more to learn about it.” Gavin “I think it’s crazy. I’m a little obsessed with it, with conspiracy theories and stuff like that. I listen to a lot of podcasts. I think our leaders are trying to do what’s best for everyone.” Dara...

Are you scared to go out?

“I’m not really scared for myself, but for the people around me.” Madison “A little bit, I just remind myself I need to be careful.” Gavin “At first I was, but not anymore. I think you just need to be aware of your surroundings.” Dara

What do you wish you could still do?

“I wish I could leave the house and feel in control of my life again.” Madison “I wish I could still do my sports.” Gavin “I wish I didn’t have to worry. I miss being able to go over to family’s houses and hang out.” Dara

What will this do to our economy? How will this affect our country?

“I think it’s gonna last longer than any other country. I feel like prices on gas and other essential things are gonna drop.” Madison “I feel like people will change the way they do things.” Gavin “I feel like prices will drop. There’s a lot of things I agree and don’t agree with.” Dara...

How will this affect our population?

“Well it has already dropped but it will keep dropping. Ultimately it will help our world because humans use up so much of the resources.” Madison “I feel like it’s gonna go down a lot more.” Gavin “It will continue to drop for sure.” Dara

How much longer do you think this will go on?

“2 or 3 more months at the most.” Madison “I don’t know like the rest of the year.” Gavin  “18 months from when it started.” Dara
