Creating A Carrier
Tess Roberts and her unique egg carrier
In order to keep their eggs safe students must create a carrier. The contraption can be as simple or complex as they’d like, as long as it follows the rules. The carrier must allow for the egg to be able to “breathe” and the egg must be able to be taken out of the carrier. While most students choose to make theirs quick and effective, senior Tess Roberts chose to think outside the box.
“I went to Michaels and bought a wooden bird house, and the doors actually opened up on it,” Roberts said. Roberts’ unique device worked and she was able to keep her egg intact the full nine days. “I actually did end up having to tape my egg by the end, after I took it out of the house and put it in the vending machine.” In an attempt to create the perfect photo op. Roberts placed the egg inside of the vending machine coin slot.
“It actually fit perfectly, but when I went to take it out the shell cracked a little.”
