What is the craziest experience you have had as a teacher? Last year at Howell High school, I was a long-term substitute for a teacher on maternity leave. I had met with her and observed her class the first day back from holiday break. On the second day, I took my time waking up only to check my phone and realize I had an email from my host teacher. She was going into labor! Quickly, I showered and dressed myself to get out the door. The school covered first hour for me and greeted me with open arms. It was a crazy morning and day.

If you could travel to one place, what would it be and why? Germany. My late grandfather and grandmother (Opa and Oma) immigrated from West Germany after the country was split in two by the Berlin Wall. I’ve always felt very proud of my German heritage and would love to see the country and partake in some of its festivals. I also want to visit the town where my grandparents met and meet my relatives.
