What inspired you to teach? It’s strange, really. I originally got a degree in creative writing, but ended up working in a college as a student coordinator.  I really loved the students, but hated the job. I felt compelled to go back to school and get certified to teach, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have the best job.

What do you like to do outside of school? Taking 8th graders to Six Flags every year has been pretty kooky. I love riding Batman with them!  Field trips in general can be pretty crazy, but I mostly love seeing how students surprise me everyday.  I get to look at new ideas and perspectives through the eyes of young people.  I know that sounds kind of cheesy, but it really is the best job ever.
