Super Bowl 53 – Rams vs Patriots: The Rematch

The Rams and Patriots are set to face off in a rematch from 2002

February 1, 2019

The biggest event of the year is almost hear being the Super Bowl with the Los Anglees Rams taking on the New England Patriots. The Patriots are returning to the Super Bowl for the third in a row losing last year to the Philadelphia Eagles and winning the year before that against the Atlanta Falcons in what was one of the most intense and entertaining showdowns of all time. The Rams lost in the Wild Card last year to the Atlanta Falcons but have since then become stronger making a return to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2002 in which they faced the same opponent that they face this year in the Patriots.

Tom Brady currently is 41 years old vs Jared Goff who is 24 years old. Tom Brady won his first ever Super Bowl against the Rams in Super Bowl 36 at 25 years old and his opponent Jared Goff was only 8 years old at the time. Tom Brady currently has a ring for each finger in 5 total Super Bowl wins and is tied currently with Charles Haley but is now looking for his 6th which would not only make him the NFL player with the most Super Bowl rings but would bring his team to a tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers for most Super Bowl wins at 6. Not many people can compare to Tom Brady’s accomplishments considering he has more Super Bowl wins than 28 other teams and he could make it 30 after his match with the Rams.

The Rams have only won 1 Super Bowl and that was in 2000 against the Tennessee Titans behind Hall Of Fame Quarterback Kurt Warner when they were still in St. Louis. A lot of people are disputing whether or not the Rams should be in the Super Bowl or not after the NFC Championship game against the New Orleans Saints after a blown call for either pass interference or helmet to helmet contact. But to be fair if the player would’ve turned around he would’ve intercepted the ball or swatted it away and the game probably would’ve ended in the same way. The NFC Championship game was full of bad officiating for both teams so to say the referees were working against the Saints would be wrong as the the Saints also missed some scoring opportunities.

The AFC Championship game also had missed calls as well but the argument for the calls being against the Kansas City Chiefs is pretty fair. Many people have claimed they are refusing to watch the Super Bowl this year but from the looks of it this looks to possibly be one of the most entertaining Super Bowl’s in history. The Super Bowl will go down on Sunday, February 3.

Prediction: Rams – 34 Patriots – 31
