Spirited Royalty
Abby Hinzman, Cody Holtschlag and Mr. Cole took the respective titles as most spirited winners of the week
Teachers and students posted their spirit wear attire during the week on social media with the hashtag #SPIRITLHS on Twitter. And StuCo was on the lookout for the most spirited of the school.
The revealing of the spirit king and queen as well as the most spirited teacher took place Friday at the pep assembly.
Cody Holtschlag, a junior, won the title of spirit king and claimed the prize of a trophy and a bag of candy, in honor of Valentine’s Day.
Holtschlag said it depended on how much effort he put in for each day, but yet people seemed to notice.
“He [Holtschlag] is a really great person,” freshman Maddie Sanderson said. “He’s so nice to everyone and is a great person to talk to. He has a lot of fun with the spirit days and I was really glad that he won.”
As for spirit queen, Abby Hinzman, a junior, was super excited for the title that she received. She said that her favorite day was Meme Day when she dressed as a Tide Pod.
Although she doesn’t think it will make her any more well known in the school, she still remained proud of her accomplishment.
“It was hard to gather and find stuff to make the outfits,” Hinzman said.
As for the most spirited teacher Mr. Cole, a social studies teacher and a basketball coach, thought spirit day was a huge success.
“It was a rough start to the year, so this was a fun way to show some school spirit,” Cole said. His favorite day of spirit week was jersey day where he dressed with the other girls basketball coaches.
Overall, the short week was full of spirit and Liberty students and staff kept school spirit alive this Valentine season.
