Who Memes The Most To You?

Liberty has its first ever meme day

Spirit week kicked off with Liberty’s first-ever meme day on Monday with a very successful turnout. The day helped to build excitement leading up to Friday’s Coaches vs. Cancer basketball games and winter formal on Saturday.

“I was pretty surprised with the turnout because Liberty students aren’t usually that into spirit week,” sophomore Sarah Downs said, who like many other students, dressed up as the “Arthur fist” meme, that grew in popularity in 2016.

“I’ve been hoping for a meme day for a long time, and when the opportunity arose, I just couldn’t say no,” freshman Amanda Yoder said. “I think that our school will have another meme day in the future because it was a successful spirit day that many people had fun participating in.”

Yoder dressed up as the man from the “you almost made me drop my croissant” vine, one of the more popular vines created before the app shut down in early 2017, and is one of Yoder’s favorites.

The most popular memes included the “that’s none of my business” Kermit meme, the “Arthur fist” meme, and many more.

Meme day’s success should help carry a sense of excitement into the spirit days yet to come, leading up to the Red Out game on Friday night, followed by the winter formal on Saturday.
