What’s one way you run your classroom that you consider different from other teachers?: “I give my students a lot of freedom and choice. I keep a fairly laid back environment in my classroom.”

What do you like to do in your free time?: “I don’t have a lot of free time these days, but I like to play guitar, walk my dog, watch sports, read and write.”

What was your favorite subject in high school and why?: “English, but it didn’t start that way. It came easy to me but I didn’t like it until my junior year. English made me feel stimulated. I would also hang out and talk about life with my English teacher, he was a special guy. He’s one of the reasons I became an English teacher.”

If you were not a teacher, what would you be?: “A writer, I love to write poetry and fiction.”
