Game 1
Game 1 set the tone for the rest of the series, as the Dodgers picked up a big win against the Rays with a score of 8-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was former Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw, and young ace Tyler Glasnow would be pitching for Tampa Bay, the two team’s aces respectively. However, Kershaw was the one that was the clear ace in this game, as he only gave up two hits and one run while striking out eight, while Glasnow allowed six runs and walked six batters. The Dodgers also did better than the Rays offensively, as the Dodgers finished with eight runs and 10 hits, while the Rays ended with three runs and six hits. The Dodgers simply outperformed the Rays in this game, giving the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the series. “We’ve got a lot of guys doing special things right now. It’s just a special team” said Kershaw, having high hopes for LA to continue what they did this game for the rest of the series.
