Game 2

Game 2 saw a much closer game between the two teams, with the Rays picking up a 6-4 win in order to even the series up. Former Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell was on the mound for Tampa Bay, with second year pitcher Tony Gonsolin pitching for Los Angeles. Gonsolin had never pitched in a World Series game prior to this, and the Rays took advantage of that quickly, scoring a run in the first inning and forcing Dodgers manager Dave Roberts to pull Gonsolin after just 1.1 innings of work. Rays starter Blake Snell didn’t last long either, being pulled 4.2 innings into his start after the Dodgers put up two runs on him and were threatening to score more. From there, it was a duel between bullpens, with the Rays proving to be the better of the two, as they were able to fend off the Dodgers strong offense for the rest of the game, while the Dodgers bullpen struggled to prevent runs from scoring. The series is now tied 1-1, momentum on the Rays side.
