Game 3
Game 3 was an important one for both teams, but it was the Dodgers that came out on top, winning the game 6-2. On the mound for Los Angeles was their young star Walker Buehler, and for Tampa Bay was former World Series Champion Charlie Morton. For the first time this series, a starting pitcher went longer than 5 innings, with Walker Buehler pitching six innings, only allowing three hits and one run with 10 strikeouts through those innings. The Rays, on the other hand, were forced to remove their starter in the fourth inning, as Morton had given up seven hits and five earned runs. Although the Rays bullpen shut things down for the remainder of the game, the damage had already been done and the Rays offense couldn’t seem to get things going, finishing the game with just four hits and two runs. This big win for the Dodgers gave them a 2-1 lead over the Rays, shifting the momentum back to their side.
