Game 4

Game 4 was a must win for the Rays, as they couldn’t afford to go down 3-1 in the series. In one of the craziest endings to a World Series game we’ve seen in recent years, the Rays managed to pull off an 8-7 victory in walkoff fashion. Julio Urias and Ryan Yarbrough, two relief pitchers, started for Los Angeles and Tampa Bay respectively, but the story of this game was the offense. The Dodgers finished the game with 15 hits and seven runs, while the Rays ended with 10 hits and eight runs. Randy Arozarena, the Rays’ unexpected superstar, lead Tampa Bay with three hits, while Corey Seager and Justin Turner lead Los Angeles with four hits each. The game came down to the wire, as the Rays were down by one in the last inning with runners on first and second and two outs. Brett Phillips, a Rays outfielder that hadn’t seen much playing time throughout the season, came through with two strikes on him, walking it off for Tampa Bay and evening the series back up once again, this time a 2-2.
