Game 6

Game 6 came, and with a 3-1 victory for Los Angeles, the Dodgers were officially World Series Champions. Tony Gonsolin started for the Dodgers, but after lasting only 1.2 innings, LA relied heavily on their bullpen, using six pitchers in relief. The Rays started Blake Snell, who had an excellent start, giving up only one run on two hits with no walks and nine strikeouts. After 5.1 innings of work for Snell, Rays manager Kevin Cash made a controversial decision to pull Snell from the game, bringing in reliever Nick Anderson into the game. Immediately, the Dodgers were able to score a run on Anderson, proving Cash’s decision to be an unwise one. “I wanted to go that whole game. That was everything I wanted to do,” said Snell, upset with his manager’s decision to take him out after performing so well throughout the course of the game. Despite the Dodgers scoring less runs this game than any other game this World Series, the Rays offense couldn’t seem to ever get it going against the Dodgers’ bullpen, leaving Los Angeles to not only win the game, but to win the World Series.
