Cheri Westrich, Global Engagement Manager at World Wide Technology

How has working from home affected your work stress? Has it gone up, down?

Cheri: “Initially went up, as time went on it’s evened out.”

Has working from home affected your company overall? Is your company doing well?

Cheri: “We’ve been doing very well. Business has, in some cases, increased. Due to the need for the IT industry and the need for in-home supplies- laptops, monitors.”

Do you find yourself easily distracted working from home?

Cheri: “Sometimes, I think it’s been more challenging when the kids are home. It overall depends on the day,”

Has your company changed since you’ve been working from home? Are there any new rules or regulations?

Cheri: “Not really. My company has been very focused on our mental health and our families’ well-being. They’ve been very flexible with their employees.”

Do you think working from home is easier or more difficult?

Cheri: “For some aspects, it’s easier, but I personally miss the in-person interaction. In some instances, in-person meetings can be more productive. But also, using the computer for meetings has also made it much easier.”

Do you prefer working from home or in the office?

Cheri: “I prefer splitting my time, which is what we did, prior to COVID. Alternating in office and working from home. It was a good balance for me.”

Do you know when you will go back to the office?

Cheri: “Not until sometime after March.”

Do you think there will be different rules in the office?

Cheri: “No, I don’t see them implementing any new rules, with the exception of maybe some guidelines (COVID type).”

Are you ready to go back?

Cheri: “No, I like working from home because it allows me to better balance my work life. It cuts down on commuting, that’s the biggest thing. That’s really the only reason I’d say I do like full time at home. The flexibility has been nice, and I do feel like while they’ve been flexible, the productivity has not decreased. In some cases, I think it increased and I think that reflects well number wise in how the company is doing.”
