Cross Country
Coach Glavin’s biggest goal is to get both teams to qualify for state.
“For about six years my girl’s team has gotten to qualify and last year my boys made it but not the girls, so I’m looking for both to qualify this year,” Glavin said.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams usually attract many athletes, but Glavin is always out recruiting. “Working on getting more numbers. Being able to get the word out and get more people interested to join and run with the team,” Glavin said.
The cross-country runners are always out running, generally rain or shine to stay ahead of their competition. “Just keep working hard. We do more than the basic programs require and so I just want to keep working hard.”

Lots of players graduated from last year’s team but new varsity players are stepping up.
The women’s volleyball team lost a lot of players this year, seeing how most athletes were seniors. Veronica Kirkpatrick, head coach of the women’s volleyball team, shares how she think the team is coming along.
“Learning to adjust to a faster pace of play, they’re filling big shoes, but filling them well, and learning to bond with their new teammates,” Coach Kirkpatrick said.
The team also moved up a GAC class after going 21-8-1. “We are looking to be extremely competitive and the girls will come to compete,” Kirkpatrick said.
Girls Tennis
After 15 seniors graduated last year, varsity girls tennis has a lot of new faces on the team.
Head coach, Teodoro Campos, has also experienced losing most of his seniors on team.
“We are training hard to prepare them. For awhile it will be a learning experience, and might be a rough start, but we should be fine,” Campos said. After finishing first last year varsity looks to repeat this outcome.
Campos has some advice for the girls moving to varsity. “Don’t overdo it, Play your game and play smart.” Campos said.

The team came out firing in their first game of the season against Francis Howell Central (FHC) with a 35-19 win. “As long as we execute well, play fast and hard we should come out on top,” McMillen said.
McMillen is also excited about Caleb Orcutt, a sophomore who will be playing varsity as a wide receiver this year. “We wouldn’t start him if we didn’t think he could perform at this level,” McMillen said.
Softball
After going 21-9 last year, softball is looking to play that well again this year.
Coach Dan Wheeler is extremely excited for the team this year with 5-6 seniors graduating new players have started to fill in spots.
Wheeler is excited about center fielder Alyson Moorman. “She’s a super athlete, and she would run through a wall to make a catch in the outfield,” Wheeler said.
When Moorman was asked about how it feels to be on varsity, she said, “It’s just another team, and another game to go out and win,” Moorman said.
Boys Soccer
