A back-and-forth game, seniors versus juniors. An intense match, who came out on top?

On Oct. 2 our female senior and junior student body participated in a game of flag football. Powder puff, a tradition we’ve had for seven years now, allows students to participate in not only a fun game but a game that helps raise money for our senior class.

Jack Ryan (12) has been a part of this tradition for two years now, having participated in the halftime show his junior year. This year he decided to change it up a bit and coached our senior team.

“I feel like everybody played great,” Ryan said. “I was definitely not expecting some of the girls to tackle the other girls, but they went out there and they played aggressively and they did great.”

Payton Hemmer (12) was one of those seniors that Ryan coached. Hemmer scored a touchdown in the first half of the game, that being one of her highlights of the game.

“My highlight was scoring on the first play of the game,” Hemmer said.

Even though Hemmer may have scored that touchdown, she still had some disappointments about the game. When trying to run the very last play Hemmer ended up getting circled, not how anyone anticipated the play to go.

After a tense game, the senior girls came out on top beating the juniors with a score of 32-28.
