Have you ever noticed the administration assistant in the student center? This is the person who works at the front desk.

Erinn Gomillion recently became the new administrative assistant and it’s her first job working at a high school, but it is her second job in the school district. Prior to this position, she worked at Peine Ridge during lunch duty.

“As an administrator in the student center, I work very closely with all the counselors to support Liberty’s students through their academic journey,” Gomillion said.

This job follows up on action steps from student meetings, managing filling systems and office inventory, assisting as the liaison between Liberty and community organizations or college ensuring students are properly routed to the counselor/principal that can assist them with general questions. This is just some of the tasks Gomillion does on a daily basis.

I mainly support the counselors with any administrative task that they need. This includes calling or emailing parents, bringing students down to the office, and organizing student data in the system properly,” Gomillion said.

Why did Gomillion decide to be administrator in the student center?

She was looking for a job that provided her a healthy balance with her family and allowed her to use her skills to help her succeed in life.

“I enjoy the job very much,” Gomillion said. “All of our counselors are down to earth people who genuinely want their students to succeed in life.”

Gomillion’s favorite part of the job is that she loves meeting new people so her favorite part is meeting new students and staff almost everyday. Gomillion has been able to meet many students.

“I love to learn about different personalities so this job affords me exposure to so many people,” Gomillion said.

Overall, Gomillion is excited to keep being a administrator in the student center.
