Educators have a lot of concerns to worry about on a daily basis. The last thing they want to think about is their car and its needs.

To help with this, manager of Lou Fusz, Brian Noles, gave the gift of discounted oil changes to all teachers and staff members at LHS for a discounted rate of $9.95.

The oil changing process happened on campus throughout the mornings of Dec. 17 and Dec. 18.

Lou Fusz participated in many charity events throughout the year. And as the year comes to an end, Noles and his team wanted to do one last thing to give back. His team came up with the idea of discounted oil changes.

Noles was a parent of two former LHS graduate students. His children had great experiences at Liberty High School, and because of that Noles wanted to give the perfect gift for the holiday season to those who helped his children succeed.

“I thought that this would be a great send off before the holiday break and it would really help the staff there,” Noles said.

Noles has been a part of the Fusz family for around 10 years. Before joining Fusz, Noles worked at Saturn for 15 years. In total, not only at Fusz but so many shops combined, Noles has worked more than 30 years in the car industry.

Teachers who received an oil change such as Dan Wheeler are grateful for this opportunity Noles has given to him.

“This was perfect timing for me, I was going to get an oil change this weekend,” Wheeler said.

Crew members from Lou Fusz arrived to LHS in the back lot behind the school at around 7:30 a.m. They worked throughout the early morning and finished the last car around 1 p.m.

While working from only a Ford service van, the van was able to hold all specific needs for each type and model of the cars.

The Fusz crew was also able to change filters in needed cars, along with an oil change for still a flat fee of $9.95.

The average cost of an oil change throughout most companies cost anywhere from $50-$100. This opportunity gives staff members a 80%-90% discount of what a normal oil change rate would cost for a customer.

Although most teachers may not of had an oil change in mind as a gift for themselves this holiday season, the appreciation they have received from Noles is a gift beyond just an oil change.
