Missouri can’t catch a break when it comes to weather. And just after previously having an AMI day on Feb. 11, the next winter storm came brewing in the Lake Saint Louis area on the morning of Feb. 18 with the first round of storm hitting around midnight.

The second wave of winter storms hit just a few hours after the previous wave at around 5 p.m.

Due to this constant winter weather, the WSD has called yet another AMI learning day for all students on Wednesday, Feb. 19. This will utilize the fifth and final day of AMI days for this academic school year. Using all two, regular snow days and 5 AMI days, from here on out we will transition to snow days 8-11 which will result back to traditional snow days; no make-up days required. However, each day taken will result in a required school day after May. 23.

Teachers all across Missouri having been feeling the drag of these snow days. This winter weather season has caused for many closures across the United States.

Although, teachers aren’t the only ones who have been struggling. Snow crew members have been fighting off these storms for the past few months to keep roads as safe as they can be.

Due to the harsh and extreme colds around the area, road salt remains ineffective to nearly all roads. This is giving MoDot a hard time keeping roads clear.

With hopes of the winter weather season leaving, nothing is for sure as new winter storms approach.

The WSD has taken seven snow days as of Feb. 19. (Wentzville School District )
