What is the Symbolic Meaning for the Colors of Color War?

Popular Disney film helps to inspire the reasons of the colors

Some students are wondering where StuCo came up with the colors for spirit week’s color war on Tuesday.

The colors were inspired by the movie Cars. If you haven’t seen this movie before, the setting of this movie is a small town on Route 66 that hints to our homecoming theme.

Seniors wore red representing Lightning McQueen, who is the main character. Juniors wore blue representing Sally Lightning, McQueen’s girlfriend. Sophomores wore green representing Chick Hicks who is one of Lightning McQueen’s competitors on the race track. Finally, freshmen were to wear brown, which represented Mator who becomes Lightning McQueen’s best friend in the film.

“The seniors got the preferred color,” StuCo sponsor Ms. Holmes said.

If you are a freshman and were upset about wearing brown during this spirit week for color war because you don’t have brown clothes or like the color, Ms. Holmes said that “freshmen won’t have to wear brown again we will get some new colors to do in the future.”
