Recently employees in the medical field have been working more than ever, but the public has been helping support their efforts.

Following suit, the St. Charles County Ambulance District decided to give back. They decided they would donate to Operation Food Search, distributes food and necessities to community partners in Missouri and Illinois. Operation Food Search supplies local pantries and much more, helping to feed 200,000 people every month.

The idea for the donation was pitched by Bill Norris, and Ashley Pease is heading the collection. At a point during the collection, Todd Ferring offered the incentive of a “Coronabowl” haircut to push to raise at least $500 more. (picture on the left, was posted with consent)

As of April 20, they have raised $3,300 so far, but their goal is $5,000. SCCAD plans to challenge outside agencies such as other first responders. Their efforts are greatly appreciated- they truly are heroes.

If you would like to donate or see more about this project, the information will be posted on the St. Charles County Ambulance District Facebook page.
