Emma Thomas has been crocheting since she was in third grade and learned from watching YouTube videos. It’s become a hobby for her that helps to relieve stress.

“Anyone that puts their mind to it can do it,” Thomas said.

Thomas, along with Ms. McFadden, started a crochet group that meets every Wednesday during AI in room 331. Thomas got the group going as part of the Star project for FCCLA statewide.

The group is called Unwind your Mind, stitching for fun to get rid of stress. It is welcome to anyone and very casual. Anyone can join and stop by.

Sophomore Aicha Beye is at a beginner to the world of crocheting.

“It’s a relaxing way to spend AI and allows creativity,” Beye said. “It’s difficult to start but gets easier as you go.” She is currently trying to make a bucket hat.

Cleo Mozolewski is a senior and has previous experience crocheting. Mozolewski was making a row during the meeting.

“I love it, it’s super fun,” Mozolewski said, who said it relieves stress. “It’s very relaxing.”

Students should not be concerned about the difficulty level as anyone can learn. They made bracelets the first week and are now trying to build rows.
