For the month of October, Mr. Hysong was awarded with the teacher of the month.

He didn’t expect to receive the award, but was very happy when he heard the news.

“When I heard that I was teacher of the month, I felt pure excitement,” he said.

Hysong has been teaching for a total of 11 years and for two years at Liberty.

He loves the challenge of convincing students they can do math when they think they can’t.

Mr. Hysong has always had a love for math, but he didn’t always know that he wanted to be a math teacher.

During his sophomore year of high school, Mr. Hysong went on a college visit specifically for engineering. He always thought he wanted to something in that field.

However, after his college visit he decided against it but also knew that he still definitely wanted to do something related to math.

This is when Mr. Hysong decided that he wanted to be a math teacher.

Mr. Hysong has made an impact not only on the students here at Liberty but among the teachers as well and he is very much deserves to the title of teacher of the month.
