Liberty started off the second week of the season with a tough loss on the road to Fort Zumwalt West, 68-57. The Catchings brothers were the two top scorers as Jayce scored 15 points while Kale scored 17 points. After a rough loss, the Liberty boys came into their home opener wanting their first win on the year.

The Eagles did just that after rolling right over Francis Howell Central 72-53. With an electric home opening crowd, Liberty had the momentum almost the entire game. Kale Catchings scored a season high 25 points with some highlight reel dunks to go along with it. Kaleb Overall had a nice game as well scoring his season high 16 points. With three blocks in the game, Kent Lawson becomes one of the state’s leading blockers having already 10 blocks in the first three games.

The Eagles (1-2 overall record) play at home once again this Friday at 7 p.m. going against Fort Zumwalt North (1-2) looking to start off 2-0 at home on the season.
