Two letters, A and P. Two letters that hold completely different meanings for different students. Some of you will utter in distaste about the thought of being in or taking an AP class, while others of you may have a deep thought about whether you should take one or not. Maybe reading about the experiences of Deveshisai Chitturi (10) can bring you insight into her feelings about AP classes.
At the age of 15 years old, Chitturi had expressed her workload with tackling 3 different AP classes at once, AP Physics 1, AP Pre-Calc and AP U.S History. For a lot of people especially Chitturi’s age, this can seem like a huge responsibility to take on,
And while Chitturi expresses challenges she ultimately finds a way through.
“While the classes are pretty challenging and the workload is heavy I try to stay focused and push through,” Chitturi said.
Despite the workload being challenging, Chitturi also finds a way to balance her life outside or the books she’s able to still enjoy clubs while also finding time outside of school for herself as well.
“I try to get most of my work done during school, I find that doing time blocks and making to do lists works best for me,” Chitturi said.
When talking about AP classes, and the one that comes easiest for Chitturi, she states how AP U.S. History is her easiest class. She’s able to find the material in this class a bit less heavy than material in her other AP classes such as AP physics 1 and AP pre-calc.
Despite all the stress that can come along with these AP classes, Chitturi is still able to manage them really well. And when talking to friend and classmate, Trinity Ramsbottom (10), she states how her hard work has paid off.
“Deveshisai works really hard to accomplish everything, she tries her best in each class she takes too,” Ramsbottom said.
For Chitturi, the two simple letters. A and P help her truly dive into interesting topics. While giving herself an upper hand academically as well.
Take a look after reading Chitturi’s story, how would those two letters A and P shape your academic life? How will they add to your story? And if you’re interested in taking one, ask yourself, are you ready to face the challenge?
