Just after Winter Storm Blair hit, the second wave of storms started raising flags on the doppler.
Winter Storm Cora is expected to hit the Lake Saint Louis area at around 6 p.m on Jan. 9. This snowfall won’t be expected to stop until 6 a.m. the following day on Jan. 10.
The Wentzville School District has remained closed throughout the week due to the harsh and hazardous road conditions from storm Blair.
Students and staff were expected originally to go back to school after the winter break on Jan. 6. But because of the extent of these storms, it has not been safe for all students to transport to schools.
While some roads, areas, and even counties have clear roads, other parts of the district remain hazardous.
Most of the Liberty High School areas and roads are mostly clear. But other high schools such as North Point and even Holt have treacherous roads to get to that aren’t safe.
These roads currently are still a hazard to most who are traveling. And on top of that, winter storm Cora won’t make these road conditions any better. With this information in mind, the WSD decided to declare another AMI days for all students and staff members to ensure the safety of all.
This AMI day will be the third AMI day used, which brings our AMI days to 3 out of a total of 5.
