If you were an animal, what creature would you be? Some people may need to think about this question, what best matches their personality? Their looks? But for Tony Caamano (9) the answer was immediate.
A lion.
When it was commented how fast he was able to respond, Caamano said that he just really loves lions, but maybe his personality matches better than he knows.
Three words Caamano used to describe himself were funny, bright, and loud.
Caamano’s best friend, Amparo Tapia-Caballero (9) would second this opinion. In a completely separate interview, Tapia-Caballero mimicked Caamano’s answer almost exactly.
“Loud, funny, and muscular,” Tapia-Caballero said.
Many would also agree that Caamano is a bright person. His glow seems to bring people together and makes him an easy person to be around.
While loud, Caamano says he gets along best with people who have opposite personalities to him. This makes Tapia-Caballero, who he described as a shyer person, a perfect fit.
“It was the end of the day, I was walking to the buses and I saw him. I wanted to be friends with him ‘cause he seemed like a cool guy,” Caamano said. “I patted his shoulder and was like ‘What’s up bro? I’m trying to be your friend man.’”
Caamano only had one class with Tapia-Caballero, but that didn’t stop his outgoing personality. Caamano also applies this lifestyle on the soccer field.
Attacking the ball the same way he attacks life, Caamano is a forward on Liberty’s C-team. He’s the man that scores the goals and while he claims he didn’t have the greatest season, Caamano didn’t let that stop him from being a good teammate.
“I think something that makes me a good teammate is how easy it is to get along with me or in games I’ll be down for any play,” Caamano said.
Being such an open and friendly person is not always easy, however.
“My greatest struggle is probably that I’m not really good at confronting people,” Caamano said.
While Caamano may not be good at confronting people, it still takes exceptional bravery to do all that he does. To go out and make friends, to own up to his flaws, and to be a person that lights up every space he enters. You may even say he has the heart of a lion.
