On April 8 Wentzville School Districts will vote on a Prop L. a $135 million bond. This is a zero-rate-change bond meaning this will not raise the school tax rate. This bond initiative will support the District’s facility needs.
Over the past couple of years there have been evaluations over all buildings and facilities in the district. The district has discovered several needs of updates and improvements throughout.
The previous bonds of Prop E and Prop C have all been on time and under budget.
Proposition L will require 57.14% in the April 8 election to pass.
A zero-rate bond means that the district paid off enough existing debt to create room for more debt within the current tax rate.
The security changes would include new high definition cameras.
Heritage will undergo the biggest renovation as it will have gym, hallway and cafeteria updates. Heritage was built in 1959 so it needs a lot of updates due to age.
Holt and Wentzville Middle were built around the same time as Heritage so they also require a few updates and sprucing up.
The playground renovations will allow for them to be ADA (American with Disability Act) compromised. Meaning that the grounds of the playground will be rubber or turf surfaced.
Almost all buildings will receive window and HVAC upgrades.
For Liberty, we will receive traffic stacking lanes, a security guard shack, turf and light repairs, and cell phone repeaters.
These changes will be a result if proposition L gets approved in the April 8 election.
