Athlete of the Week: Amelia Ragsdale

Name: Amelia Ragsdale

Grade: Freshman

Sport: Girls swim

Why did you join: I swim on a club team so it just made sense.

Pre-meet/game/match ritual: None.

Special item/snack: I always have an extra bag of goldfish in case anyone needs it.

Best memory: The pasta dinners.

Hot take on the sport: It’s more of a sport than cheer.

Favorite song: None.

Proudest moment: I won one of my heats in the 500.

Hardest thing in practice: Probably the pull. (They make you put a buoy in between your legs and make you only use your arms)

Biggest motivation: Just keep swimming and get faster.

Are you planning on doing your sport in college/future: No.

Lilly Brown is a senior, and is the editor-in-chief of the Talon yearbook as well as the social media manager for LHS Publications. This is her third year in publications and her second year as an editor. Lilly is also a part of girls swim, NHS, and Link Crew. Lilly also works at the Renaud outside of school as a gym attendant and front desk worker. In her free time she enjoys going to the gym, reading, puzzling, and playing Sims. Lilly plans on attending State Technical College of Missouri and pursuing a Digital Marketing degree after graduation.
