After hearing it for the first time, I was shocked that Keith Urban hit high notes in his newest song “Parallel Line”. That was a first for me because out of the songs he recorded, I never heard him hit one high note in my life.

Urban, an Australian country artist, released his single he co-wrote with Ed Sheeran on Jan. 19.

Along with Sheeran, Urban co-wrote the song with Julia Michaels, Johnny McDaid, Benjamin Levin and Amy Wadge.

“Parallel Line” is about romance (no big surprise in country music). In the song, Urban sings “You said ‘I love you’ to me” which could only mean it is going to be about romance. Later on in the song, Urban sings “Maybe it’s time we put our hearts in a parallel line, put our hearts in a parallel line, put our hearts in a parallel line” stating that the couple should be together after all.

This is the Australian lead single for his 10th studio called “Graffiti U” which was announced during a Facebook livestream that Urban did on Jan. 17. Although the release date for the album is still unknown, Urban did announce during the livestream that he is going on tour with fellow country artist Kelsea Ballerini. The tour starts on Jun. 15 in St. Louis. No ticket sale has been announced for his show in St. Louis yet.

I honestly love the song because I’m a huge fan of Urban’s music ever since I was young but it combines pop and country together. I like how Urban is collaborating with other songwriters instead of sticking with songwriters he previously wrote songs with him. Also, I honestly think this will be Urban’s next big hit because he writes songs with a passion for his fans. He can tell what song that the fans will love before recording the song. “Parallel Line” is one of those songs.
