Cammie Earle has been working in school cafeterias for over 20 years.

Cammie Earle has worked in school cafeterias for 20-30 years of her entire life.

This is her first year at Liberty, after moving from St. Patrick’s and West County Day School. She says she absolutely loves the environment that she works in here.

Her day begins along with the school day, around 7 a.m.

“There is a lot of prep work that has to take place before the actual first lunch shift begins,” Carrie Earle said.  “There are also a lot of allergies here so we have to make sure that we are following the recipes and school guidelines so that no one gets sick.”

A lot of people don’t realize the amount of time and effort it takes to feed about 500 students on a daily basis.

It takes hours to prepare all the food, and then when lunch takes place, they have to ensure that every child is getting enough to eat, constantly switching out trays.

After lunch ends, usually around noon, Earle has to help clean up too. This also takes hours to do, but fortunately there is other people that wash the dishes so she doesn’t have to worry about that.

For Earle, it’s really stressful but it is also really rewarding at the end of the day. She gets to see hundreds of kids pile into the cafeteria and enjoy food, that she helps for hours to make.

“I really enjoy working with Cammie. I think everyone does. She’s good at what she does,” said Debbie Boswell.

Carrie Earle is just one of the 15 workers that work in Liberty’s cafeteria and they all deserve credit for the day to day work that they do for the students.
