Inside the Smile
An inside look at junior Zoee Harrington
March 2, 2018
Junior Zoee Harrington has achieved many awards in her golf career. The list of her accomplishments keeps getting longer as she moves ahead.
Harrington has won districts, a junior PGA championship, placed ninth at state, tied for third place at the Troy Invitational, as well as being all district/ all conference two years in a row.
With all the hard work, Harrington can tell it’s paying off. Her coach, Mr. Sodemann, has watched her grow and improve in these couple of years.
“Zoee is an extremely hard worker, she spends a lot of time, a lot of her own time outside of practice working on different parts of her game,” Sodemann said.
Being on the Liberty girls golf team had been an amazing experience for Harrington so far.
“I would have to say it feels great knowing that I am making a positive impact on the team,” Harrington said.
One of Harrington’s number one fans, along side her parents, is her brother Max Harrington, a senior at Liberty.
Harrington and her brother are very close and share a bond that nobody else could understand. Max is there for every one of Harrington’s matches, tournaments, and practices, no matter what.
Max was born blind and he also is autistic. Max was dealt with some unfortunate things in life that he never asked for. Harrington always makes it a part of her life day to day to let Max know how much he is loved by everyone.
“Max is my best friend and I love him so much” Harrington said.
Having Max in her life has been one of the greatest things to happen to Harrington.
“He shaped me into the person I am today,” she said.
Max has taught Harrington that not everything is as bad as it could be, things could always be worse. Not having Max in her life is unimaginable.
