Homecoming festivities will take place Oct. 7-12
October 4, 2019
Homecoming gives people an opportunity to meet up with old friends and also gives girls the opportunity to show off their latest fashion. Even though the boys aren’t as enthusiastic about dressing up, they still participate in the dance. Whether it’s with a date or with a group of friends, the dance floor is open to anyone who buys a ticket.
Most students such as girls, have very similar preparations. For example, getting their nails done, hair done, and makeup done. But, the most important part is finding the perfect dress and theme.
“My theme will either be light blue or light pink,” freshman Elaine Thimyan said.
“I’m excited for homecoming because I can see a lot of my old friends,” Mason Bailey said.
Tickets will be sold during lunch beginning Sept. 30. For the first week, tickets will be on sale for $15. Then from Oct. 7-11, tickets will increase to $18. You can also buy a ticket at the door. To enter the dance you will have to have a ticket that you purchased and have your student I.D.
The homecoming football game is probably the biggest attraction of the week. Even the people who don’t go to football games go to the homecoming game because it is a completely different experience. It will be on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. against Fort Zumwalt South. Before the game, the tailgate will be on the practice field starting at 4:30 p.m. There will be a cornhole tournament for $5 per team. Sign up forms are available outside Ms. Holmes’ room.
The day of homecoming on Oct. 12 will begin with the parade which will be located at Holt High School starting at 9:30 a.m. The parade will be filled with floats made by the students and teachers. After that, preparations for the night have started. Everyone is getting ready for the big dance. It will be located in the commons from 8-11 p.m. at Liberty.
Last but not least, check out the homecoming shirts that will be sold for $12 and #ashlynnstrong t-shirts at the game for $20. Then the following Friday on Oct. 18 will be the pink out game against.
