March 7, 2017
From a young age, senior Andrew Stuhlman has wanted to play soccer in college. Stuhlman has been playing soccer since he was 4 and has loved the sport ever since he started.
The goal has always been to continue his soccer career for as long as he could. Most student athletes end their athletic career after their senior season is done, but for Stuhlman, he didn’t want to give up the sport he loves the most quite yet. He will continue his soccer career into college playing for NAIA Missouri Baptist University in Creve Coeur.
“I’m most excited to get to experience playing for a college team and playing at a high level,” Stuhlman said.
Lindenwood University, Fontbonne University, University of Denver and Fort Hays were schools that also very interested in Stuhlman as well.
“I think Missouri Baptist University s going to be a really good fit for Andrew,” head boys soccer Coach Raziq said. “I know the coach there, and they are a good competitive team and I think Andrew will be challenged in soccer and get a good education.”
Stuhlman has worked very hard to get to be able to play soccer in college. He has continued to improve all four years he has been playing soccer.
“Andrew loves soccer, I know it’s a big priority in his life. He has played year round and has played club ball his entire life and he has done well in terms of earning postseason honors and was our leading goal scorer. It’s nice to see him rewarded for his efforts,” Coach Raziq said.
