Abby Brown is an aspiring artist hoping to pursue music as a career. A young artist who writes, sings and plays her own instruments. She posts her self-made songs on her Instagram account. Brown doesn’t have a huge following, just about 20 or so followers of her close friends.

Brown began her journey in music at around the age of 5 years old.

“I’ve wanted to make music since I was 5,” Brown said. “My nana had a music room when I was little, and still does now. I would throw mini ‘concerts’ for my family and make up random songs that a 5-year-old would write. Music has been really normal for me my entire life. It’s abnormal without it. It is very much a part of me as a whole,” Brown said.

Brown finds comfort in her music, a sort of escape from all her troubles and concerns. She began the account because she wrote a song for her friend and needed a place to put it. Brown continued writing songs and since she had already posted one song onto the account she thought, why not, and posted more and more songs onto that account allowing her friends to listen. Brown has recently publicized her Instagram account for more people to hear.

“Honestly, I think if pursuing music is her goal in life and she works hard I believe she can make a career of it,” junior Alexandra Chavez said. Chavez is good friends with Brown and has recently started listening to Brown’s songs. Most of Brown’s friends who have listened to it love her music. This isn’t just a hobby for Brown, it’s her safe haven.
