12. Roman Bridger

Scream 3 (2000)

I’ve decided to rank Roman at the last place, 12th, due to multiple factors. His motive was just downright stupid. Adding him into the movie to stand in as Sidney’s half brother that we had no idea about and was never even led up to in past movies or throughout the movie at all was stupid. The motive felt rushed, they could’ve just “blamed it on the movies” but they decided to be special and make Bridger Sidney’s brother. I understand that he is the only Ghostface to do everything by himself and I’ll give credit where it’s deserved. Overall, I applaud him for doing everything on his own but he will probably forever be my least favorite Ghostface.

11. Richie Kirsch

Scream 5 (2022)

Richie is one of the newer Ghostface’s in the franchise, debuting in Scream 5. He was the partner of Amber Freeman. The two’s main motive was to continue “Stab,” a fictional movie franchise based off of our “Scream” movies. Kirsch’s character was pretty lackluster throughout the entirety of the film, questioning why he was a part of the movie in the first place until the big reveal. Kirsch feels like an added character they randomly made just for the soul reason of there being two killers.

Nancy Loomis; Scream 2 (Provided by Miramax)
10. Nancy Loomis

Scream 2 (1997)

Nancy Loomis was introduced in the sequel, the mother of one of the original killers, Billy Loomis. Mrs. Loomis isn’t necessarily a bad ghostface, her reasoning is somewhat understandable; kill the person who killed her son. So she sets out to kill Sidney and has one of the few original motives compared to the other killers. The only problem when it comes to Mrs. Loomis is the fact she isn’t in the movie for 85% of it. The only times we really see her are when she’s pretending to be a news reporter and at the big reveal where she is killed rather quickly. Loomis would definitely be marked higher as I genuinely like her character if only she had more screen time.

Quinn Bailey; Scream 6 (Provided by Paramount Pictures)
09. Quinn Bailey

Scream 6 (2023)

Quinn Bailey is one of the three new ghostface’s in the 2023 Scream movie. Just like Mrs. Loomis she’s hardly in the movie. Bailey is “killed” off in the first act and you don’t see her again until the very end. Her only motive was to kill Tara and her friends because of what happened to her brother Richie in the past movie. She doesn’t add much to the movie and feels like another added on killer.

Actor/actress who portrayed the character – Liana Liberato

08. Ethan Bailey

Scream 6 (2023)

Ethan Bailey is the brother of Quinn and is our second Ghostface in the new addition to the franchise. He plays a much greater role in the movie than his sibling counterpart but it’s quite obvious he is one of the killers. It is even pointed out when Mindy gives her speech, like she did in the past movie and how Randy, her uncle, did in the first movie. Ethan is an okay character but he would be better if it wasn’t so obvious it was him.

Actor/actress who portrayed the character – Jack Champion

Charlie Walker; Scream 4 (Provided by The Weinstein Company)
07. Charlie Walker

Scream 4 (2011)

Charlie Walker is one of the two Ghostface’s in the fourth Scream movie. Walker as Ghostface doesn’t have an amazing motive and is kind of a bad Ghostface. The reason I’m ranking him so high is because the character is genuinely a funny and liable character. He’s a comedic relief that we had been missing in the third movie and feels like a breath of fresh air.

Actor/actress who portrayed the character – Rory Culkin

Nancy Loomis; Scream 2 (Provided by Miramax)
06. Mickey Altieri

Scream 2 (1997)

Mickey Altieri is the companion of Mrs. Loomis in the second installment of the Scream franchise. Altieri is another one of those lighthearted funny characters that you just have to like. He’s a little stupid but it adds to the charm of his character. He brings some solid kills to the franchise but other than that he’s a pretty boring Ghostface like previous ones.

Actor/actress who portrayed the character – Timothy Olyphant

Nancy Loomis; Scream 2 (Provided by Miramax)
Roman Bridger; Scream 5 (Provided by Paramount Pictures)
05. Amber Freeman

Scream 5 (2022)

Amber Freeman is the killer in the fifth movie, partner of Richie. Amber is best friends with the main protagonist of the movie, Tara, and plays the role of not being able to tell who the killer is. There is even one scene where you think that it could possibly be Mindy until Freeman reveals herself. There are multiple scenes that I love which are featuring her, from the reveal of her being Ghostface to the final scene. The final jumpscare where half of her face is burned off really adds to her character.

04. Detective Wayne Bailey

Scream 6 (2023)

Wayne Bailey is the dad of Quinn, Richie, and Ethan. Like Mrs. Loomis he’s getting revenge for the murder of his son. The thing that makes him better though is the fact that you don’t know that it’s going to be him until the end, he’s present throughout the entire movie and is an actual likable character. This is what I wanted to see with Mrs. Loomis so I’m glad they were finally able to pull through with the parent revenge plot without making it super obvious.

Actor/actress who portrayed the character – Dermot Mulroney

03. Billy Loomis

Scream (1996)

We’re finally to the final three. Billy Loomis is one of the original Ghostfaces from the first movie. Don’t get me wrong I love Loomis if it wasn’t for him there would be no Scream/Ghostface but there are still two characters who I believe are better than him. He has a somewhat good motive, he’s also mentally ill so he probably would’ve done it based on the smallest thing anyways, but he’s a good Ghostface. When you think of scream you think of Loomis.

Actor/actress who portrayed the character – Skeet Ulrich

Stuart 'Stu' Macher; Scream (Provided by Miramax)
02. Stuart ‘Stu’ Macher

Scream (1996)

It’s a pretty well known fact that I’m a huge Stu Macher/Matthew Lillard fan so of course I had to rank him pretty high. Macher is a hilarious character and adds just the right amount of silliness to the movie that you need. He has a lot of scenes which will make you laugh but he still somehow is able to play the psychotic role needed to be played to get the character right.

Actor/actress who portrayed the character – Matthew Lillard

Jill Roberts; Scream 4 (Provided by The Weinstein Company)
01. Jill Roberts

Scream 4 (2011)

Honestly Stu has always been my favorite character in the Scream movie but when I actually looked into it I realized that Jill Roberts is the best Ghostface when you stop and think about it. Yes she did it for fame but she is the only one who almost got away with it. She had a perfect plan and no one suspected a thing, the only flaw was that Sidney was still alive. Roberts is by far my favorite and the best Ghostface throughout the franchise.
