Most students are going to college after high school. However, in the last few years the total college enrollment in the United States has decreased by 7.4%.
Besides college, there are also other options, like going into training or going into the military. We interviewed some seniors about their plans after high school.
Senior Decision Day took place on May 1 at lunch time and we could see where our seniors are going to go for college. A map of the U.S. had been set out and you could put a pin on your college location or you could take a lot of photos with nice backgrounds.
Ashley Hively is planning on attending Lindenwood University and is hoping to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). After college she wants to have a job at a hospital as a NICU, labor and delivery, or pediatric nurse.
“I think during my last moments at Liberty I’ll be sad and get all sentimental, but ultimately I’ll be glad to move on to the next chapter of my life,” Hively said.
James Kemp wants to go to Westminster College and wants to play baseball there, and he wants to be a corporate lawyer.
Anumitha Vaka is going to visit her family in India and really excited about it because it’s been a while. She will also be going to Houston, Texas for HOSA ILC.
Vaka explained, “I’m going to Truman State University and I’m deciding between majoring in either Health Sciences or Biology. I will be pre-med and hope to go to medical school and become a pediatrician.”
McKelvie Stepney is going to Kansas State for architecture and she isn’t completely sure what to do after that yet.
So most of the students go to college after they finish high school. The most common major in the United States is business amounting of nearly one-fifth of all bachelor degrees.
