After taking a disappointing loss on Monday, the boys junior varsity soccer team was able to pull through with a win at home Thursday night against Francis Howell Central.
After goals from James Naphakorn (10) in the first half and Nicholas “Pickle” Kuhn (10) in the second, the team was able to pull off a close win, winning 2-1 over the Spartans.
Naphakorn feels his team was a little slow on the midfield and they could have played faster. Eagles coach Victoria Harris agreed.
“I thought we came out with intensity, which is what we were looking for, but like James (Naphakorn) said, the midfield was a little slow at times, but we were able to come out with a win,” Harris said.
The team’s goal for the season is to have a winning record and beat personal records for some people, according to Coach Harris.
JV soccer record improves to 4-2 after the game.
The varsity team also defeated Howell Central 1-0 on Friday on a second half goal by Ryan Sinclair. The varsity team improves to 2-1. Aidan Brown secured the shutout in goal.
