Although the girls varsity softball team has had a rocky 2024 season, they are still pushing through and giving their all to the end. The team has a 10-13 record headed into district playoffs.
Emily Griffth (10) and Ella Smith (10) both help lead the way in offense with hitting over .400 for the season.
“We’ve been doing pretty good,” Griffith said. “We need to work on our hitting and hit consecutively.”
The team has had some setbacks from consistent injures from players such as Charlotte Thornton (11) and muscle soreness from Addy Murphy (11). Murphy is the Eagles top pitcher playing in 16 games this season.
Despite the team’s back-and-forth play on the field, they find time to have fun off the diamond too.
“My favorite part about this season is getting to hangout with my friends everyday,” Audrey Moore (11) said. “I’m excited to see how far we get in districts this season because I think that we have worked really hard and hope it pays off.”
Districts begin after regular season play ends Oct. 14.
