Life after high school looks different for every individual, whether that is going to college, traveling, trade school, military, or jumping into business and much more. Every student has their own plan for their lives.
Once he graduates high school, Shaun Dobratz (12) is planning on going to college at Mizzou to become a physical trainer.
“After I got hurt, seeing people help me, made me want to help other people too,” Dobratz said.
On the other hand, Sebastian Casas (11) is planning on being a pilot. He got a lot of inspiration from his father who also wanted to be a pilot when he was younger.
“The clubs had a big impact on my decision,” Casas said. “The international club has helped me impact the global perspective on things which I need to know to become a pilot.”
Although most students end up going to college, that is not the only path students can take.
Clark Carpenter (12) is planning on going into the military to become a Marine.
“My uncle had a lot to do with this decision, he served as a Marine and I grew up knowing about it. I want to serve just like him,” Carpenter said.
As you can see, there are many ways to go after college. One of the major assets that can help students figure out what they want to do is Michelle Gerringer’s wisdom. Gerringer is the college and career counselor. She pulls students to talk to them about what they want to do in the future. She also manages credits and classes. Students go to her for knowledge, advice, and guidance.
Overall, all high school students have their own path for what they want to do in life, it may all be different but all are important.
