Many fans expected going into this game that it could be a blowout, just a matter of how much. And now we know, with a show of force the Eagles took down the winless Knights 49-7 Friday night and boy was it a show.
From the start the Eagles moved the ball well targeting Camden Cooper (11) the most in the air with 4 catches 64 yards and 1 touchdown to start the game for the Eagles.
The Knights would come back with a score of their own and an interception to follow, but nonetheless the Eagles defense locked it down from there and the Knights would not score again.
The Eagles did something “new” as they ran the ball a lot less than normal. However, starting running back Jalen Mack (11) continued his dominant season with 5 touchdowns, and 194 rushing yards this game. Cody McMullen (12) reached the 2,000 yard mark in this game, passing for 2,093 yards on the season with 194 passing yards in the game.
Next Friday, the 7-3 Eagles will host the 6-4 North Point Grizzlies in what will be a bloodbath of round two district play. The two teams battled in a tight game with the Eagles coming away with a 15-12 win. Expect a good game next Friday.
