Unbeaten Eagles And Grizzlies Prepare For Conference Showdown

The Eagles are off to their first 3-0 start in school history.

During a close game between Liberty and Timberland on Sept. 5, senior Jaylen Mack (#10) started the game off with a fumble. Mack bounced right back and on the next play scored a 40-yard touchdown. “The touchdown was a little more personal for me because Timberland’s head coach was my old head coach freshman year so I felt really excited to just go out there and get two touchdowns off,” Mack said.

Will Nolan, Mason Molitor, Wesley Bartlow, Kirsten Pinkham, and Ellie Simon

An intense upcoming varsity football game against North Point is this Friday. Both teams are 3-0 creating a high stakes, intense atmosphere. What this game will tell us is which group will prevail stronger within the Gateway Athletic Conference.

The game starts at 7 p.m. at North Point and the theme this Friday is frat boy, so come decked out in your backwards caps, crisp yet questionably colored polo, and those khaki capri cargos that will certify you as Brad and Chad.

The Eagles (so far) have won against Francis Howell Central (49-21), Timberland (44-14), and as of last Friday Warrenton (35-0). Next on their list is North Point, where the students will show true frat spirit and be loud and proud for the unbeaten Eagles.

This season the North Point Grizzlies have won against Francis Howell North (29-0), Holt (20-17), and Timberland (45-29).

Our Goal

Your donation will support the student journalists of Liberty High School. For the 2025-26 school year, we are trying to purchase additional cameras and video equipment for our growing media program. We also plan to attend the national journalism conference in Nashville in November.

Delainey Gastreich is in her freshman year and in her first year of LHS Publications. She likes to write, critique cinema, and listen to every genre of music besides modern country. In her free time she studies a variety of topics she enjoys, spanning from “Star Wars” lore all the way to Psychology. Gastreich has a dream career of being a journalist and traveling the world. You can almost always catch her doing Word Finds, watching movies, or doodling in her notebooks.

Will Nolan, Editor-in-Chief of Broadcast Media

Will Nolan is a senior and this is his second year in publications. Nolan is the Editor-in-Chief of Broadcast Media. He cannot wait to work alongside his class to try and produce the best videos possible for this program. Currently, Nolan has a job at Lake Forest Country Club where he works in the bag room and the cart barn. In his free time, Nolan enjoys playing golf, hanging out with friends, and traveling. Nolan cannot wait to start the year and see how far the broadcast program will go.

Mason Molitor, Reporter

Mason Molitor is a senior, this is his second year in publications. Molitor is the play-by-play live stream sports broadcaster. He plays baseball with St. Peters Post 313 Legion Ball. This year he is extremely excited to finish his legacy in the program by creating the best videos and content possible. He enjoys watching sports, talking about sports, and exploring in the woods.

Wesley Bartlow, Reporter

Wesley Bartlow is a junior, this is his second year in publications. Bartlow is the live stream sports color commentator. This year he is excited about working towards bettering the broadcasting program and helping further its legacy and lasting effects. In his time outside of journalism he enjoys hanging out with his friends and playing sports. Bartlow cannot wait to get into the year and continue the broadcast program.

Kirsten Pinkham, Reporter

Kirsten Pinkham is a sophomore, and is in her second year in Publications. Pinkham loves photography, and is the head photographer for the Liberty Eagles Hockey team. She is also going to be the social media manager for the team. Pinkham enjoys going to sports games and writing recap stories of the games, especially for hockey. Outside of Publications, Pinkham loves to read, listen to music, bake, and hang out with her friends. Pinkham hopes to pursue a career in photography and social media management, with the end goal hopefully being the NHL.

Ellie Simon, Index Editor of The Talon

Ellie Simon is a junior and is in her third year of Publications. This is her second year being the Index Editor of the Yearbook. This is also Simon’s second year of being a Mentor in the Band. She has a passion for playing the trumpet, and you can find her on TV for the Macy’s Day Parade and the Rose Bowl Parade this year! She is also in Link Crew, NHS, and Key Club. Outside of school, you can find Simon hanging out with friends or at Dairy Queen where she works.

MaryKate Stroud, Photo Editor

MaryKate Stroud is a junior, and this is her second year in Publications. MaryKate is one of the managers for girls Varsity Basketball. MaryKate is also the President for FCCLA, apart of Light House Leadership Team and National Honor Society. MaryKate enjoys doing sports photography and traveling. MaryKate currently works at Kinetic Park. MaryKate plans on going to college after high school and is currently indecisive on where she wants to go, but she knows that she wants to go for broadcasting and human resources.
