The Grammys this year was very monumental and artists took to the stage to perform their hit songs from the past year.

Many performances were politically influenced while others were simply for entertainment purposes. Some highlights of the night included moving performances by Kendrick Lamar, Kesha, U2, and Logic. They took to the stage with powerful renditions of their hit songs and shading light to strong political movements such as the #MeToo movement, Immigrants, the Vegas Shooting, and other important and controversial topics.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee sang their world-wide hit “Despacito” and  broke Grammy history by being the first ever singers to sing a song all in Spanish on the Grammy stage. Normally, Hispanic singers would perform and receive their awards during the “Latin Grammys” which is held on a different night than the American Grammys and is normally broadcasted on Spanish Network Channels like Univision or Televisa.

James Corden was the host of the night and he brought comedy into a night filled with music and inspirational movements. His quick witted remarks and jokes proved to be a refreshing change to the serious tone that the show brought. Many awards were presented during the night.
