Liberty holds second annual Mr. LHS pageant

Liberty High School’s second annual Mr. LHS pageant will be held on April 27. Auditions for the competition were to be held on March 2 in the main gym after school but were canceled. Since there is enough space for the 12 boys who signed up, StuCo decided not to have auditions.

There will be six staff members to judge at the actual competition. There are no major changes to the competition this year besides the location.

“We will be able to hold the pageant in our auditorium this year which is really exciting,” said Ms. Holmes, one of the pageant judges.

Liberty decided to start the Mr. LHS competition due to it being a fun high school tradition. Our school had always wanted to start the tradition and last year was the best time for it since we had our first full four classes. The winner of Mr. LHS last year was Drew Schill, who is now graduated. Our new Mr. LHS hopes to continue the success of last year.

“We are looking for someone who has a good stage presence, interacts with the crowd, and has a good sense of humor,” Holmes also stated.

Some of StuCo has worked to shape this event including sophomores Aminhan Lobster and Megan Kruse, and senior Kennedy Hennessy. They are working together to go through applications and prepare for the auditions and pageant. The theme of the pageant is the Olympics and there is expected to be a lot of good competition.

“The pageant is going to be really exciting this year so everyone should come and show support on April 27,” Lobster said.
