DECA found a new kind of success at ICDC this year.

Students from across the globe gathered together in Atlanta, Georgia from April 25-28 for ICDC, International Career Development Conference. And Liberty had the opportunity to bring 12 students to the Conference to compete.

It is the highest level you can compete at for the business and marketing club DECA,” Tanya Ananda Krishnadu (11) said. “Students from all over the world come to compete in different events to show off their skills through either role plays, papers, or projects and win awards for their achievements.”

While Liberty did not place in any of the events they competed in, they were able to come together and make memories as a club.

I enjoyed this trip with my DECA family and advisers, Mr. Hutton and Mrs. Taylor, and they made it a memorable one,Ananda Krishnadu said.

Kaylee Skinner (12) collected a total of 16 pins from across the globe while at ICDC.

Not only were they able to get to know each other better, but they were able to network with students across the globe. One way that the event encourages this is through pin trading.

“You go around trading pins with people from all around,” Kaylee Skinner (12) said. “I think I got some from Texas, British-Columbia, Georgia, and Alabama.”

From growing closer as a club to making new connections across the globe, ICDC was a success in a different way for  Liberty’s DECA Chapter.
