4. Scaled And Icy - Their newest album released in 2021, had a more Indie style to it than their other albums. After coming right out of the pandemic, the duo had to work together, but isolated. The entire album holds the theme of appearing and sounding happy, when it is actually about difficult and heavy topics. This all changes though with the last two tracks. “No Chances” is the second to last track and it begins with a heavy bass synth as it descends into a guttural and almost Gregorian chant/chorus. The last song, “Redecorate,” is about suicide and how it feels from a first person point of view. While dealing with such a heavy topic, the song itself doesn’t portray a deeply sad tone, rather a reflective one and it is by far my favorite. With about half of the songs as skips, "Scaled and Icy" is a 7/10.
