For the holidays the outreach committee from National Honor Society (NHS) sponsored a donation drop-off for Our Lady’s Inn maternity homes. The donation drop-offs lasted from Dec. 19 to Jan. 9. NHS was very pleased with the turnout, having two full cars worth of supplies. The supplies that were collected consisted of diapers, toys, paper products, wet wipes, robes, slippers, and winter gear. They had donation bins at LHS, Crossroads Elementary, and Countryshire pool.

Our Lady’s Inn is a place for mothers and their children to seek help. It gives them a safe place to stay and an aftercare plan to help them stay on track after leaving. The outreach committee’s decision to sponsor the donations for this particular organization derived from members and their personal experience with Our Lady’s Inn and because they help so many women in our community.

NHS has received nothing but positive feedback from volunteers and individuals who donated.

“We were overwhelmed with support and it was very powerful to see how this organization has touched our community through the support they provide for women and families. I am most excited about seeing all of the donations go to them and knowing that it is changing lives,” senior Olivia Guffey, NHS president expressed.

The drive had about 20 volunteers over the two dates that NHS hosted, all of the volunteers were great and the Outreach committee was grateful to have them.

“All of our volunteers were amazing and truly are responsible for our success,” Guffey said.
