Missouri Seal Of Biliteracy & Global Seal Of Biliteracy Awardees

LHS Publications

Twenty-six LHS students have met the rigorous criteria to earn the Seal of Biliteracy and one student earned the Distinguished Seal of Biliteracy.  The criteria included:

  • Score of proficient/advanced on the English II end of course exam
  • Score of Intermediate Mid or higher in all 4 domains (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) on the STAMP4S assessment
  • Completion of a Sociocultural Competence project

The Missouri Seal of Biliteracy and Distinguished Seal of Biliteracy, along with the Global Seal of Biliteracy, promote active participation in a global society and economy by incentivizing, recognizing, and celebrating the acquisition of biliteracy skills and sociocultural competencies. Bilingualism and an awareness of world cultures improve cognition, behavior and problem-solving, and can lead to additional career opportunities when students enter the workforce.

Wentzville introduced the Seal of Biliteracy and Distinguished Seal of Biliteracy, with the approval of the Board of Education, in January 2019.
