Inclement Weather Prompts A Late Start In The WSD
Friday, March 11 will be a two hour late start
WSD announced a late start for Friday, March 11 due to slick road conditions.
As the result of a winter weather advisory going into effect and foreseen snow coming as early as Thursday night, the WSD declared Friday, March 11 as a two hour late start.
“All schools in the WSD will have a 2-hour delayed start today, Friday, March 11, to give crews extra time to clear slick roads throughout the district,” WSD wrote on Twitter.
The Weather Channel predicted 1 inch to 3 inches of snow for our local area. A winter weather advisory was put into effect for Friday, March 11 from midnight to 3 p.m.
Late starts as a result of inclement weather will not extend the school year. Therefore, the last day of school is still scheduled for Thursday, June 2. The last day for seniors also has not been pushed back.
